• Other Life Safety Issues

Loans and Grants General Qualifications

1. South Dakota Housing Development-HOME funds

   • Home must be owner occupied and must be the primary residence
   • All contractors must be insured
   • Funds must be matched 25% through other programs, owner contributions, or a loan

   Terms

   • 0% Interest
   • No payments
   • Forgiven after 5 years if home owner remains in the home

2. Housing Preservation Grant Funds

   • Home must be owner occupied and must be the primary residence
   • Lack of ability to repay any loans available
   • Funds available to remove life safety hazards, major house systems and energy conservation
   • Funds must be matched 25% through other programs, owner contributions, or a loan

   Terms

   • 0% Interest
   • Forgiven after 3 years if the home remains owner occupied
