Library District Block Club
First organized in 1998, the Library District Block Club is located around Deadwood’s Historic Carnegie Library. The Block Club hosts meetings twice a year and works on various projects to improve the neighborhood. Projects include the planting of flowers throughout the neighborhood for Plant the Town and organizing a team of volunteers to paint a home of someone in need for Paint the Town. The Library District also conducts cleanup projects which include the City Stairs on Williams and around the creek on Denver Street.
The Library District hangs Christmas lights throughout the neighborhood and in the Methodist Park, where they have honored a valued resident with a plaque, each November. They join Upper Main to celebrate the holiday season.
