Burnham Block Club
In 1997, the Burnham Area Neighborhood Block Club organized with the assistance of Neighborhood Housing Services of the Black Hills (now called NeighborWorks® Dakota Home Resources). The block club is named for Burnham Hill, the main road leading into the neighborhood. Meetings are held twice a year to plan socials and projects. Each year a fall social is held in August or September along with the Rodeo Ground Neighborhood. This is an opportunity to come out and socialize with other neighbors in the community.
Santa Claus Lane
In November, neighborhood volunteers help decorate the light poles throughout the neighborhood. The “theme” for the neighborhood is “Santa Claus Lane.” The block club recently purchased large Santas to be on the light poles of Burnham Street. Also, a neighborhood social is held each December to celebrate the holidays.
